Chicago shoot

Another year working with the amazing team at Zoom 7. Comrades Douglas Howard & Eric Fabra are in Chicago to shoot both video and photography for the Epsilon/Conversant 2017 meeting. End of week will be a 2-3 minute recap and some great photos of the event. Where to get some good pizza?

College Fitness Girl - Megan Stevens

College Fitness Girl - Megan Stevens

Some great photography as well as some great footage today. The extremely talented Megan Stevens is creating a marketing package for fitness enthusiasts and we wanted to give her a beautiful backdrop equal to her beauty as a model/entrepreneur. We shot at sunrise on Cocoa Beach and successfully captured some remarkable footage.

Guatemala Shoot

Guatemala Shoot

We traveled to Guatemala this year to capture footage and tell stories of sustainablity using micro loans. Our client was BFB's Chris Burns-Fazzi.

The BFB Foundation offers young women in developing countries educational support, personal and professional mentoring, and the chance to gain an understanding of and appreciation for the value of spreading positive opportunities.

As women learn life and leadership skills and receive the support they need to build self-assurance and self-reliance, they begin to realize their own worth and potential. They become agents of positive and lasting change, both locally and globally.

We interviews 3 ladies who were growing coffee along with bringing up families and feeding them. The 3 mujuers and they grow coffee with a coop called De La Gente coffee. The goals of the women were to save money to put the children through higher level education

Another group we interviewed were some native Mayan weavers who live along Lake Atitlan in the middle of the country up in the mountains. They were bringing back native skills and patterns into the garments. some of the outcomes were their ability to partner and learn business skills, internet marketing and collaboration as a group to sell independently.

My takeaway from the trip was one of inspiration, beauty and witnessing some incredible people who had abilities with minimal loans to achieve a great success and opportunities for their families and their communities.

Finland - Land of the endless daylight

Traveled to Finland with Eric Fabra to shoot some Top Secret instrument that will be coming out in the next few years. Packing for a full blown production and a 2 man crew is very challenging, especially for a gear head like me. We were fortunate to have great hosts and also great eats. Here are a few photos of the trip. As far as the endless daylight comment, it says light or dark depending on the year for looooong periods. Some of the photos below were 9:00pm (and it looked like 3:00pm). And the reindeer was fabulous btw.

Beginning on the Insert Stage Cyc at the Church Street Studio

Pixel 1080 was about to shoot a 1 week "White World" instructional learning project and needed to convert the big black space into a real insert stage (with lights and all). The slideshow below gives an evolution of what we needed to do to get there. Lots of plywood, hard board and about 20 gallons of drywall mud. Not to mention about 20 more gallons of paint to whiten everything up.

April 2012 - Germany

April 2012 - Germany

Shooting for edgefactory, for the Thermo Fisher Scientific annual video. We were in Munich, Frankfort and Berlin. Bread and Beer! Architecture was unbelievable, too bad we missed right after their annual Octoberfest.

EA Sports - Shoot

Doug Howard is on the set (golf course) as AC for the Tiger Wood video game.

We are doing a bunch of green screen reveals where it seems like we are in a living room only to then have all the walls fall away to being on the course with the pros. Shot with a 5D M2, some ND filters and a very large crew.
